To analyse the phenomenon of multiculturalism in different fields, one
should observe its presence throughout the 20th century as a reflection
of the global crisis of spiritual life, especially in Europe after the two
world wars occurred and shook humanity with their atrocities. In the arts and cultural studies, multiculturalism
is perceived as a manifestation of creativity and originality oh human nature.
It depicts the loss of rational, moral and ethical foundation; which often leads
to intercultural miscommunication on an ethno-social level as well as personal.
In politics, however, the problem of multiculturalism
present in one single state is a result of the bourgeois –liberal reforms adopted
by multinational empires in the 19th century.
