Have you ever sat quietly in class when the teacher asks questions, you know the answer but you lack of confidence? From the statement says that when we know less our confidence is high, and the more we know, the more we have to be doubtful about. There is an assumption that there is an inverse relationship between two variables, knowledge and confidence. When knowledge increases it leads to the decreasing of confidence and when the knowledge is less it leads to the increase of confidence. Which knowledge define as information, understanding, facts, particular abilities and skills that gained from study, research and experiment. Confidence is a freedom of doubt, also a belief, feeling of trust toward someone or something. Doubt is a feeling lack of conviction toward someone or something, unsure of abilities and skill or knowledge. But also, having doubt is the main key to acquiring knowledge. Knowing with confidence doesn’t mean doubt doesn’t exist. The human science is an attempt to reduce the mystery by studying human behavior in a systematic way (book page 375), included Psychology, History, Philosophy, Economics, Anthropology, Biology, Sociology and more. Mathematics is the research of science. The abstract structure is defined by a group of axioms, which are given an absolute reason. Using symbolic, logic and mathematical notations. Mathematics is also classified as absolute science which no needs to refer to any other knowledge.Surely no one will doubt about the answer of  1+1 and we all know is 2. In the most general level of maths seem to be one of the most certain knowledge because as you take one of thing and add one more what we get is two things. So there is no doubting requiring around. Answers in math are either right or wrong. Math can be right when there are reason and evidence. However, the advance of math, more we learn more thing we have to be doubting around and doubt lead to the loss of confidence. For example, I have study negative number in DP math class and it doesn’t make any sense for me. Because bigger number cannot have a smaller value than the smaller number. It makes me confused and doubting around my teacher and my knowledge because I don’t know which one is wrong which one is right between information that I knew before or the new information. Then I found out that the number has the center of zero, the negative number is opposite of the positive number. A positive number represents the above sea level, then negative represents the below sea level. Both information that I knew before and new information is right, so I assume that doubt leads to understanding and knowing with certainty. Moreover, doubt sometimes can lead to a lack of confidence. For example, in our math practice book, at the end of the book, there is all the answer key to questions. Every time, when I do my practice,  I always look at the answer because I am having doubt that my answer is going to be correct or not. So that, when I don’t have my answer kay I always feel doubtful, uncertain and unsure about my maths abilities. That makes me lacking my confidence. Have you ever met someone who knows nothing but always shows off  how much they know? You may think that those people are  “Silly but pretend to be clever, clever only stupid things” and you may question those people who are incompetent (Or less capable) why do they think that they are better than anyone else or better than reality? Why are they not ashamed? Are they stupid? For example, a guy who tries to sing but this voice is really bad, a lot of people try to tell him but I he still thinks that his voice is good and not listen to anyone. We may think that he is stupid, wondering why untalented people cannot overcome themselves. However, it’s not his fault, what fault is not recognizing he is untalented. According to “The Dunning-Kruger Effect” by social psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger.  Saying that “Unskilled people will never know their incompetence. That’s because the ability to learn to know self-centered is the same ability that they don’t  have” Link back to example, a  person who does not sing well does not know that he is not good at singing because he does not have the ability to sing enough to make him know how to sing really well. Same as knowledge when we know little we have a lot of confidence because we don’t know what we don’t know, we have no experiences or knowing with a little depth. So that we are confidence in what we know and not willing to learn anything else because we thought we know enough, But when we start to be open our minds and willing to learn more, we realize that there are something you don’t know or not knowing enough. We will start to doubting yourself what else we don’t know, we cannot do. This kind of people always developing their skills and knowledge. “We know with confidence only when we know little; with knowledge doubt increase”  through Mathematics and Human Science this statement seems to be true.
