The topic of the
article given is about the involvement of the foreign teachers in the
educational development in Malaysia. However, upon all the issues that are specified,
the one that stood out the most is the unprofessionalism of the foreign
teachers that are hired by the education ministry. This issue was addressed by a
teacher who contrasting the Sarawak assistant Minister claim upon the action of
reviving the practice of foreign teachers to improve the educational
development among Malaysian students. Hence, myself has a few personal opinions
upon this matter.

            The issue that is addressed from the
article given is the unprofessionalism of the foreign teachers to improve the
educational development in Malaysia. The email from the teacher supported
his/her statement by this causes the country to spend way beyond our supposed
budget as the remuneration given to these foreign teachers are included with
transport, accommodation and many more that we are not aware of. Likewise, the
article addressed that most of the trainers are not fully skilled and lack of
culture awareness to train the local teachers. Nevertheless, my estimation of
the teacher’s belief is this matter makes it unrepresentative to the local
teachers because the foreign teachers are highly privilege when most of their
skills are not even close to a qualified level, some are even just travellers
that needs a little cash in their pocket when there are more expert local
teachers that can help improve the educational growth of the country. During my
childhood, I lived in the United Kingdom and I have the understanding education
with both foreign and local teachers. It is rigid to be comfortable with the
foreign teachers as they are culturally unaware of their students and only is
there to deliver the education that is given. As for the locals, it is easy to
interreact and become comfortable not as you would with a foreign teacher. In
terms of educational delivery, I would say both have pros and cons. The locally
usually teaches based upon the rubrics and books, sometimes add in a few
special activities while the foreign focuses on physically and socializing.

            To recapitulate, I strongly believe
that the reviving the practice of foreign teachers is not a bad idea but
however it should be the last option since we have many skilled and trained
local teachers that can help change and improve the young minds of Malaysia.
Not only change the mindset but to improve the educational development in the
country becoming Malaysia as one of the top choices to study. Education is also
a key to improving the country’s development.
